Clarion Hotel® Trondheim

Clarion hotel is located near cruise port. Small rooms, but clean. Walking distance to city center Trondheim. Reception staff was useful and assist to change room when the mini fridge was not working. The hotel is big and had very nice design.

We loved this hotel! We brought our two big dogs and they also loved the super comfy bed and the stylish building! Good paths for walking the dogs down towards the water, and friendly staff. Good location. And best of all: the most awesome vegan breakfast options ever! From the rhubarb juice and the various bean spreads to the vegan cheese and the vegan chocolate brownie - it was excellent! Thank you for trying to help the climate and the animals by serving more plant based yummy options!

Centrally located and walking distance to most sights. The room was clean and nice. Quiet and peaceful and heard nothing of the noise from the city in the room. Beds a little too soft for my back, but that's probably individual. No windows could be opened, but you could open for fresh air at one end of the window. This was so tight that you had to use strength to open and to close again you had to use all your strength and everyone will not be able to close it. Possibly this was only in my room but it was a big minus. Very good breakfast and the restaurant on the roof overlooking the sea had pleasant service and good food. A lift from the car park and directly into the hotel makes it easy to get luggage up to the rooms. The price for the parking is very expensive and is a big minus (not operated by the hotel). You can get a daily price for NOK 220, but the check-in and check-out times mean that you cannot use the daily price. Parked there for 1 day and 18 hours. Got a daily price for the first 24 hours, but the next 18 hours came to over NOK 500. A total of over NOK 700 in parking for 1 day and 18 hours.

Ugly building with weird misty-looking windows, overlooking the harbour. We were on a tour of Sweden and Norway staying one or two nights in ten hotels. For some reason the windows are covered with a kind of film which blurred the view a bit and made me feel queasy to look out. Two lights didn't work, though once reported to reception they were repaired quickly. The room was the smallest out of the ten on tour, and the (set) meal of fatty pork was the only one I didn't really enjoy, though in fairness the breakfast was very good and had the most choice of any of the hotels on tour, all the others of which I'm grading four or five star (most five).

In our trip, we had fun in this hotel. After signing the contract, we decided to stay for a couple more days. It means we've got it all. We rented a deluxe room and did not borrow that in others, but we were comfortable. There is a minibar as well as a restaurant in the hotel which is convenient.
