Sommerro

I only stayed at Sommerro for a night, but I do wish I stayed longer and am already planning my next trip there. The room felt spacious, comfortable and luxury at the same time and the bed was one of the better beds I have slept in. The winner for me though was the gym - it is probably one of the best gyms I've been to. It is housed in a very large space and has all equipment I can find in my gym so I was able to do my usual workout without needing to adjust due to a lack of equipment. I'll be back soon!

The best hotel to stay in Oslo at the moment. The design is in classic 30’s art deco style. When you step into the main dining area «the Expedition Hall» you could very well believe you are at a grand hotel in one of the major cities of the world. The evenings in the Hall with live jazz band are just lovely and it’s almost like you are whisked away back in time. The interior of the rooms are gorgeous with high quality beds and linen. I loved the designer soap and toiletries provided. I have stayed here multiple times and the best rooms were the Deluxe and Junior Suite with sofa. Breakfast was wonderful as well as the friendly staff that helped park the car. A few areas for improvement - check in was incredibly slow on our last visit. We also had to cancel once due to illness and they refused to refund…instead giving us an extra charge to rebook. This is incredibly unfortunate given that we had already stayed at the hotel twice and were returning guests. I hope they adjust their policy! This was the main reason I did not give 5 stars.

New option which is great once you find it. The signage is so discrete and high up that if you arrive on foot - and dont speak Norwegian - you walk straight past. Once in it is all deco decor with emphasis on form. Function is a little lacking as if you are there for business not all rooms have a desk so make sure to check this if you need it.

We stayed in a deluxe double which was beautifully furnished and spacious. very high standard and great outside space. very clean room, The staff were all welcoming and attentive, the food was incredible, the Breakfast spread buffet was the best I have ever seen and it catered for all tastes as well as offering a choie from a la carte. it is in a great location only ten mins from the port.

We were very pleasantly received by the reception and were allowed to put our luggage in for storage when we arrived early on Saturday morning. When we returned to Sommerro for check-in at 17.30 was, it went very quickly and pleasantly. We got two nice rooms, me and my wife got an upgrade The rooms look very nice, the experience as a guest was a very good one! Visit to TAK, Chef's menu this was a wonderful experience with very good service and presentation by our waitress whose name I have unfortunately forgotten. We had this served at a leisurely pace which was adapted to us, very well! Afterwards there was a trip down to the bar on 7. with good drinks and pleasant service. The breakfast was fantastic, good service, good hot dishes, of which all 4 of us chose different ones and all were very pleased. The buffet was very varied and high quality. The Vestkantbadet with its old history appeared to be very pleasant, here we enjoyed a couple of hours of bath and sauna, dough.
