Simply perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at your beautiful hotel! The location, decor, food, cocktails and ambiance could not be better: Quirky and whimsical yet elegant at the same time! Most memorable, was our experiences with your wonderful team. Each and every one we encountered was gracious and professional! Some standouts: our Saturday morning breakfast waiter (from Italy) who brought a special dessert for our anniversary, the front desk team for spot-on dining recommendations, and Anton your hospitality intern who single-handedly planned our Copenhagen itinerary. The awards and accolades are all well-deserved!

Based on all the excellent reviews opted to stay here at the start of a 2 week tour of Norway. Great location next to station and close to Opera House & Harbour. Warmly welcomed at this lovely building, 2nd floor room was very comfortable, and fulfilled main criteria for a hotel room it was quiet and dark at night. Comfortable lounges and bar and excellent breakfast completed a great stay.

The hotel is ideally situated in the city. We had a deluxe room which was beyond faultless, however the service we received in the hotel cocktail bar was not so faultless. To be less than second rate guests in the bar, where the priority on a Friday or Saturday night is given to those attending the jazz nights is beyond disappointing snd bewildering. If you do not want to accommodate hotel guests in your bar, at least have the courtesy to tell them ahead of their arrival. Fortunately there are plenty of quality bars in Oslo, so do as we did, and spend your money elsewhere

Spent 2 nights in a Fortuna Suite (305) at a total cost of NOK 8,596 for the two nights, or about USD 400 per night. Location 5/5: The hotel is located right next to the central train station, a short walk from the Opera House and other main attractions, and with immediate access to the bus, metro and tram networks. Probably the best located hotel in the city. It does get a bit loud with the trams passing right outside, but the windows are well insulated and keep most of the noise out. Cleanliness 3/5: No issues, apart from the fact that on our second day, while we were out of the room between 11am and 2pm, no one came to service our room, and subsequently, since we had the DnD sign out until 7:30, the room was not serviced at all. So basically, apart from a turndown service on the first evening, no one serviced the room until we checked out. Also, when we checked into the room there were no coffee / tea mugs, and we never got any. Service 1/5: This hotel participates in the Preferred Hotels program, but clearly has no idea what that program is about. As an Elite member we should have received a welcome amenity (nothing was offered) and an enhanced room / upgrade (if available). When we arrived, around 11:30am (and although early check in is a perk of the program), no room was available, which is OK. We returned at 1pm and were given the keys to room 701. Upon entering room 701, I quickly realized that this was not a Fortuna Suite, which was the type of room I had booked and paid for. At that moment, an employee passed outside the room, and I asked him if this room was a Fortuna Suite, and he said, “no it is not”. I then went down to the reception, and told them they had made a mistake, as the room they had given us was clearly not a Fortuna Suite, to which they responded that it actually was, but because this is a boutique hotel, no two rooms are the same. I showed them photos of the suite on their site and told them that this was misleading, when all the photos of the Fortuna Suite were completely different than the room we had been given. At first, they did not budge, but upon my insistence, and after I said I don’t mind waiting for an actual Fortuna Suite to be made available, they told us to wait. A while later I was taken up to see room 305, which actually had a sign “Fortuna Suite” on the door, whereas 701 did not (see photos). I said this was the room we wanted and had booked, and a few minutes later we got the keys. Clearly, they lied to us about the situation. Furthermore, at check in I said I wanted to use two Reward Certificates of the I Prefer program worth EUR 150 against the cost of the stay. They said this was not possible and that only incidentals could be charged against these certificates, and they proceeded to charge my card the full amount of the stay. After checking the program rules online, I found the following: “Can only be redeemed at Participating Hotels, as defined in the Program Terms, that are actively participating in the I Prefer Program at the time of payment for room charges (excluding tax) and, in the Participating Hotel's discretion, for hotel services (e.g. dining and spa services).” Clearly, they have no idea about the program they are participating in. I raised the issue again, this time with Kaya, a manager, and she said she did not read this to mean that I could use the amount against the cost of the room! I urged her to contact I Prefer on the matter, which she did. By the time we checked out I had not heard back from her, but on the evening prior to our check out they said that they would proactively refund this amount against the cost of the stay, which they did. Clearly, this property has no idea about the Preferred Hotels program to which they are participating, or they do not want to honor the terms. In any case, disappointing at least. Food (Breakfast) 4/5: Very good buffet spread, good quality. The eggs benedict were actually one egg but were tasty. Room 3/5: The room was a bit quirky in design, especially the “secret” closet (we did not find it at first) and the small bathroom. But it was well appointed, and everything worked well. One issue was the very thin walls. On our last morning we woke up from the next room’s TV speakers. Also, the blackout curtains don’t fully black out the room. Common areas 4/5: The hotel gets pretty busy with guests and visitors but is well kept. It’s a beautiful building, but nothing “wow” inside. Value for Money 3/5: For Oslo and the location, 400 USD for this suite would have been very good, but not at this level of service. Good overall for value. Bonus points for sustainable practices: Nothing worth mentioning. • Location (10%) 5/5 • Cleanliness (10%) 3/5 • Service (15%) 1/5 • Food (Breakfast) (10%) 4/5 • Room (25%) 3/5 • Common Areas (5%) 4/5 • Value for Money (25%) 3/5 • Bonus points for sustainable practices: • TOTAL: 3.05 / 5 = 3 / 5.

Excellent Hotel Oslo.

We arrived during a heatwave so this review has to be viewed through that lens. We were originally given an inside atrium room which was, warm to say the very least but the hotel very kindly moved us the next day to a room on a higher floor with windows. The staff was very friendly and attentive and made the difference here. The rooms were clean and had all the amenities you could ask for and the location was right next to the train station and a short walk away from the waterfront. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would stay again.

Dear andrewlistak, Thank you so much for you wonderful notes about our house! We did like you mentioned experience a heat wave this year, unlike the more normal temperature we usually have.
