Quality Hotel™ Waterfront, Ålesund

As the name indicates the hotel is located at the waterfront in the middle of Aalesund. A mixture of rustic and modern interior. Parking beside the hotel and very close to the airport bus stop. Nice breakfast. When I made the reservation, I also made a request for a room in un upper floor. When we checked in, we got a room in the basement. Looking up to the parking spot… As a Strawberry member I sometimes get a nice upgrade despite my modest membership level, but my request for room location is always fulfilled. But not here.

Arrived very early yesterday 8/6. Was told if I can wait until 12noon for a free early checked in. But when I came back only 2 options yo choose fr and I specified in my request to get a nice view. Chose the other room coz no choice and this one is for accessibility people. Waited for more than an hr for another option but failed. No facial napkin, room was very warm had to open the window. Took shower this morning-flooding the bathroom floor ‘coz there were bull of hair down the drainage -even the housekeeper was surprised! Went out today expecting room to be cleaned but upon return @6:10pm it was not made up! No daily housekeeping but did not inform us upon check in! It was not also in the website. The girl just say sorry took another call without solving the problem!!!! It was very rude of her. Wanted to talk to the manager but not available. I’ve been traveling around the world, given a free upgrade but never had I experienced this kind of service!!!!

Service staff helpful and knowledgeable, very friendly and approachable. interesting architecture of the building and interior design. rich and tasty breakfast. the location of the hotel is helpful and convenient

Hotel is now part of new Strawberry chain which has broken off from U.S. Comfort and Quality Inns. Good location. Very comfortable beds and reasonable amount of shelf and closet space. Some outside noise as large cruise boats dock very close by. Sumptuous breakfasts with huge variety of hot and cold foods. Reception desk was very helpful in recommending restaurants, places to visit and in deciphering the airport bus schedule.

Typical Choice-hotel with a typical scandinavian and nice standard on the rooms, very nice view. And as always on choice hotels, a superb breakfast! The staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful.
